It's one of Mississauga's four officially designated Corporate Centres, meaning the City's own planning policy specifically zones this land for high-density office employment.

Signage for Sheridan Research Park
Sheridan Research Park has been operating since 1965, making it one of the first industry-led research parks in North America, built on land purchased directly by companies including Atomic Energy of Canada, Inco Limited, Warner-Lambert, Abitibi, and Dunlop's research division. The park's founding rules were unusual: no manufacturing was permitted, no single company could occupy more than 25% of the land, and every tenant had to maintain the grounds to preserve a campus atmosphere rather than an industrial one. By the late 1960s it employed over 1,600 scientists and engineers; today it still houses active R&D operations, including pharmaceutical research firm Acanthus Research and a National Research Council of Canada facility focused on clean energy and advanced materials.

Port Credit, known locally as the "Village on the Lake," sits at the mouth of the Credit River on Lake Ontario, anchored by a historic lighthouse that's also home to the Port Credit Business Association. The waterfront runs restaurants, cafés, and boutiques along a walkable main street, hosts the Port Credit Busker Fest and an annual Waterfront Festival, and includes Credit Village Marina, a working marina with seasonal and transient dockage in the heart of the village.
This is Mississauga's closest thing to a heritage tourism district, and the signage brief reflects that: pedestrian-scale, inviting, built for foot traffic rather than highway visibility.
